going home to visit
memories fleeting back when i heard my grad song on the radio pulling into town-i appreciate the song more now than i did then-thanks bryan adams
the endless railway track that separates the north side of the city from the south side
the small creek that loyally flows through the entire city
the whole five blocks-if that-that consists of main street
the recognizable faces of people i had seen growing up my entire life-when i go home to visit i can still recognize them-its kind of a comfort thing
the endless amounts of ‘one-ways’ that make up the traffic routes
the old dirt cutbanks that my grandpa used to take me adventuring on
my grandparents house just down the street
the civic shopping center-the corner candy shop i would weekly, if not daily wander down to for a fistful of penny candies
the realization that the city is moving on and so am i, yet when i go back to visit, its still home
been talking ‘bout the way things change
the head and the heart
take some time out of your day, sit back relax, and spin this in your record player-you will not regret it. on days when you are just feeling out of it, missing home, not sure what is going on, this little bit of goodness, just may, rather WILL add a bright ray of sunshine to your day.

winter song
Tell me somethin’, give me hope for the night
We don’t know how we feel
We’re just prayin’ that we’re doin’ this right
Though that’s not the way it seems
Summer gone, now winter’s on its way
I will miss the days we had
The days we had
I will miss the days we had
The days we had
Oh, I’ll miss the days we had
Loving, leaving, it’s too late for this now
Such esteem for each has gone
Has time driven our season away?
Cause that’s the way it seems
In the world of the speech that is new
I’ll be back again to stay
Again to stay
I’ll be back again to stay
Again to stay
I’ll be back again to stay
rivers and roads
A year from now we’ll all be gone
All our friends will move away
And they’re goin’ to better places
But our friends will be gone away
Nothin’ is as it has been
And I miss your face like hell
And I guess it’s just as well
But I miss your face like hell
Been talkin’ ‘bout the way things change
And my family lives in a different state
If you don’t know what to make of this
Then we will not relate
So if you don’t know what to make of this
Then we will not relate
Rivers and roads
Rivers and roads
Rivers ‘til I meet you
how do you decide on just one, when they are both so magnificently marvelous
(they are all so adorable to boot)
Kings of Leon
“Only by the Night”
Have you ever gone to a concert, and the week following you become completely addicted to that band again? That’s how I feel about Kings of Leon. I went and saw them on Friday and it was amazing. I am not saying I am their NO.1 fan by any means, but I am a loyal follower. They are amazing live! They sound like they do on their albums (which sometimes not always the case with bands) the crowd was definitely feeling it, and so was I. Hitting some old favorites, ‘the bucket,’ and playing of course their new stuff.
Great concert, great time, great memories.
